Arianna Huffington
Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington is a Greek American author syndicated columnist and businesswoman. She's written 15 books, and she is co-founder of The Huffington Post. Arianna Huffington has been an actor, journalist as well as a philanthropist, author and journalist for more than ten years. Her role also includes being the founder of The Huffington Post, an independently-liberal online newsmagazine. Following her move from Greece to England from Greece when she was 16 and obtaining an MA with Economics from Cambridge University. In her 21st year, she was head of the famous debate club The Cambridge Union' and was the first foreign student who was elected to this position. Then she became a conservative syndicated writer after graduation and, with The Huffington Post launched a few years following, she launched an online platform to voice opinions with a critique of current political scenarios. In part, her fame helped in attracting several famous contributors. Arianna gained fame in 2003 after she decided to stand as an independent candidate for the California recall election in order to succeed the Governor Davis. Also, she was the head of the Detroit energy-efficient vehicle project. Forbes named her as one of the "most influential female" in the media industry and ranked her 12th. Guardian placed her on their list of the 100 most important media figures in 2009. AOL, Inc. appointed her President of their media division in 2011 following the bought The Huffington Post. The Huffington Post included the other AOL brands such as Engadget AOLmusic Style list as well as Patch Media. Elli was the son of Konstantinos who was a management and journalism consultant. Even though she was close with father, her relationship to her mom was the defining factor in the remainder of her life. In her earliest years she showed leadership abilities that remain highly respected. She moved to England at sixteen to further her studies and was accepted into Girton College Cambridge. While in college she joined the debating group Cambridge Union where she became the first foreign president and was also the third female president. In 1972 she graduated with the degree of master's in Economics. In the years following her degree, she was a columnist-critic and TV host. Alongside Bernard Levin she appeared on the show Face the music.
