She is the daughter of Harvey Welker (a Native American father) and Julie Welker (an African-American mom). Her mother is a real estate agent while her father is an engineer. She attended the Germantown Friends School which is located in Philadelphia's Germantown neighborhood in 1994. In 1998, she graduated with the bachelor's qualification from Harvard College. Welker, married with John Hughes of Merck Philadelphia in Philadelphia is the mother of two. The couple began their affair in 2014. John her husband is four years less than her. The relationship was enjoying itself which is why they chose to keep their friendship going. The 4th of March 2017 was the day that the couple got married.
